The identification of factors contributing to the T-cell toxicity of Staphylococcus aureus clinical isolates.Collins J, Buckling A, Massey RC Dept. of Zoology, University of Oxford, Oxford, OX1 3PS, UK; Dept. of Biology and Biochemistry, University of Bath, Bath, BA2 7AY, UK. We examined the ability of 206 clinical isolates of S. aureus to lyse T cells and found differences between Agr groups; that the beta and delta haemolysins are involved and that MRSA strains are less toxic than MSSA strains.
