This study observed that, between 1999 and 2006, up to 50% of the MSSA bloodstream isolates in our hospital had a genetic background common to endemic MRSA clones (clonal complex (CC) 5. 8, 22, 30 and 45). Furthermore, several successful MSSA lineages, such as CC 7 and 15, were observed.
